A Perfect Circle Working on New Material
Billy Howerdel
If you are an A Perfect Circle fan hoping for a new album anytime soon, you're about to be disappointed. The band, which features Tool's Maynard James Keenan on vocals, is reportedly slowly working on new material. The group hasn't released a studio album since 2004's 'Emotive,' and a follow-up isn't likely to be released anytime soon.
However, guitarist Billy Howerdel recently told RockNewsDesk.com that the band will probably play a new song when they embark on their tour later this summer. "We're going to have at least one new song on the tour," Howerdel revealed. "It's very close to being done, and from there, things could come together. Once we're on the road and start hashing through our ideas, they could quickly become a song and make it onto the stage."
"So there's an album in the works, but not for this summer. The idea was to get the juices flowing a bit and get back into A Perfect Circle mode, and go from there. But we do intend to record new material."
Well, we all know which road good intentions lead to! Let's hope the creative juices flow mightily on this forthcoming tour, which begins in late June. The band will play Rock on the Range next weekend.
