Earth Crisis Wrote New Album the Old-Fashioned Way
Century Media
For their new album 'Neutralize the Threat,' vocalist Karl Buechner and guitarist Scott Crouse of vegan straightedge warriors Earth Crisis wrote their songs the old-fashioned way.
"I think my favorite part about working on this record was demoing vocals with Karl," Crouse told Noisecreep. "We sat in my aunt's living room for a week, just researching the topics, watching video interviews with some of the subjects, and doing vocal placement on the songs. It felt like the early days when we used to discuss political issues and opinions more often."
Despite the level of noise that comes with working on hardcore songs, apparently not everyone in the house was impressed by Buechner and Crouse's creative intensity. "We also had two cats [in the house] who learned to sleep right through Karl screaming without even flinching," Crouse said.
