Baghdad's Acrassicauda Touring For the First Time
Michael Masse
Baghdad heavy metal band Acrassicauda, who were the subject of the 'Heavy Metal in Baghdad' documentary, are embarking on their first tour. The band is supporting its debut EP, 'Only the Dead See the End of the War,' which came out on March 9th.
The band has overcome plenty of obstacles in their native Iraq, including the decimation of their practice space which forced them to live a refugee-like existence. The band members bounced from Baghdad to Syria to Turkey, but kept their eyes fixed on the prize.
Acrassicauda's tour kicks off tonight in Ann Arbor, Mich., and runs through the end of the month.
