Renowned Canadian music writer Martin Popoff has written 'Black Sabbath FAQ: All That's Left to Know on the First Name in Metal,' due out on May 31st via Backbeat Books. Popoff, who has published nearly 10,000 reviews in his career, has also written more heavy metal books than any other author.
True to its moniker, the tome covers deep trivia questions for both neophyte and diehard fans of Black Sabbath, widely considered to be the very first metal band.
Popoff has a Sabbath-ian obsession of sorts: he also wrote 'Doom Let Loose,' viewed by many as the definitive Black Sabbath biography. In the 'FAQ' book, Popoff covers new ground as he debunks myths, dissects lore, and espouses his highly informed opinion about the group.
The book is written in a non-chronological format, allowing Popoff to cover every topic at his whim.
Some of the questions asked and answered in the book:
· How did Black Sabbath inspire the doom metal genre?
· How did they get along with their tour mates?
· What's the story behind the cover art of 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath?'
· What happened between Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult?
· What has each member done since Black Sabbath?
