Anthrax Unveil New Album Cover and Release Single on iTunes
After a few stops and starts, a shelved album featuring a new singer and the eventual and much heralded return of the lead singer from their most successful lineup, the almighty, always bulletproof Anthrax have finally released a taste of new music. The nearly six-minute song 'Fight 'em 'Til You Can't' is now available for purchase via iTunes. It appears on 'Worship Music,' the band's first studio album in eight years as well as the first with Joey Belladonna since 1990's 'Persistence of Time.' Can we get an amen? AMEN!
The song, which was offered as a free download previously, certainly reminds us of classic 'Thrax, but with a modern, current feel. It's like stepping into a time warp, but not, as the band holds fast to its signature, Belladonna-era sound, updating it with a fresh, "right now" feel. There's lots of riffery that will get you banging your head 'til it snaps clean off your neck. Lyrically, the tune is about killing zombies! It is also the one new track that Anthrax - Belladonna, guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, drummer Charlie Benante and bassist Frank Bello - have played live since they Belladonna rejoined the line-up a year ago.
The album art for 'Worship Music' was created by comic book artist Alex Ross who also worked on Anthrax's 'We've Come for You All' and 'Music of Mass Destruction' albums.
