It's all of a minute and a half long, but Mastodon's trippy trailer for their forthcoming masterwork 'The Hunter' will make you feel like you gone on a long, strange trip. The Technicolor trailer is a visual taste of the album, set to the new song 'Black Tongue.'
The vivid colors burst off the screen, featuring plenty of horned creatures in green, red and blue hues amidst the Mastodonian riffery that we've come to know, expect and love from the Atlanta band. It's essentially an acid trip via CGI and if you watch it more than once, you might find yourself questioning your altered state of consciousness.
But make sure to pay attention to the sonic snippet of 'Black Tongue' while you get lost in the visuals. It's classic Mastodon, reminding us a bit of 'Remission,' which is, in this writer's opinion, their most crucial album. Check out the trailer beneath the cut.
