Lady Gaga Says Seeing Iron Maiden Live Changed Her Life
ironmaiden.com
Lady Gaga hit the radio circuit this week, talking to Howard Stern and local New York City pop stations, but what does that have to do with Noisecreep and heavy metal? Well, Lady Gaga, in addition to sporting studs and leather like any consummate metalhead, is a fan of the genre, namely Iron Maiden. When she appeared on The Morning Mash Up on Sirius on Monday, July 18th, Gaga spoke about her love for Iron Maiden, which is reason enough to dig the singer. Remember, she did hit a Maiden show earlier this year, and reportedly served drinks to the band backstage.
In her chat with The Morning Mash Up, Gaga gushed about her love for Bruce Dickinson and company, saying, "I just saw Iron Maiden on their Frontier tour and it totally changed my life. It was my first Maiden experience and I just realized in that moment in the show that that was the kind of artist I wanted to be. I didn't want people... 30 years from now coming to see my show to see if I've still got it. But rather I wanted them to be fully unified, fists in the air, want to hear every song. Iron Maiden's a lifestyle and those fans...live and die by Maiden.
Oh Gaga, you really know how to win a metal fan's heart. We also love that you have a song called 'Heavy Metal Lover.'
