Lynyrd Skynyrd Lend Their Name to Vegas BBQ Joint
Roadrunner Records
People tend to frown upon rock bands licensing their names to non-musical commercial ventures, but this one feels right: Lynyrd Skynyrd is getting its own barbecue joint in Las Vegas.
Opening this December within the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer will feature a full menu of Texas-style barbecue, Roadrunner Records reports. At night, the theme restaurant will double a performance space, complete with dancing bartenders and patron sing-alongs, and members of the seminal Southern rock group have pledged to stop by periodically and jam with cover bands.
For extra authenticity, the eatery is being designed to look like the "Hell House," the shack where Skynyrd's members once lived and practiced. It will also house band memorabilia.
Sounds like a rockin' place. We'll have our 'Free Bird' sandwich extra crispy, please.
