Buckcherry's Keith Nelson Talks About Their Upcoming Guns 'N Roses Tour
Just a couple of days before their fall tour with Guns N' Roses was announced, Buckcherry guitarist Keith Nelson told Noisecreep how much the band enjoys touring with veteran groups.
"We love it, it's a lot of fun being on the road with really experienced bands," he said. "And Buckcherry is lucky. We've had the luxury of touring with Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, KISS - amazing bands that have weathered all kinds of storms. There's always something to learn from bands like that. It's incredible. I remember when we toured with AC/DC. I'd go out and watch their entire show every night. Same thing with KISS. The older bands that came before us are also the most gracious, as far as my experiences. They understand that we are a pure rock and roll band and so they make sure we always have what we need."
Noisecreep asked Keith if there was one band he'd tour with if he had the chance, who it would be.
"No question. The Rolling Stones. That's my band, since the beginning, my favorite. Growing up watching Mick and Keith - the best in my opinion. Not sure I could ever meet them, though. I think it's probably best if I just admire them from afar. I mean, I have no idea what I could say to those guys."
Nelson added that Buckcherry will head into the studio this fall with their eye on releasing a new record in the spring before hitting the road again. "We're road dogs," he laughed. "We live for this stuff."
As he looked around the backstage area at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif. where the band was about to take the stage at the recent Epicenter show, it hit him that Buckcherry had never played there before.
"But our lead singer Josh grew up near here and so he told me he has a lot of good memories of getting loaded and hopping the fence for shows."
Buckcherry will be touring with Guns N' Roses on the following dates:
10/28 - Orlando – Amway Center
10/29 – Miami – American Airlines Arena
10/31 – Greenville - Bi–Lo Center
11/2 – Atlanta – Philips Arena
11/4 – Houston – Toyota Center
