Jon Bon Jovi Opens Charity Restaurant
Jon Bon Jovi doing his part to fight hunger in his native New Jersey. The Bon Jovi frontman opened Soul Kitchen on Oct. 19th.
Located in the Red Bank borough of New Jersey, Soul Kitchen isn't your average restaurant. It's a pay-what-you-can diner, which allows eaters to ante up what they feel is appropriate for each meal. And if a person can't pay in cash, they can earn their meal by cleaning up in the diner.
Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Foundation is subsidizing the restaurant. President Obama recently appointed the singer to the White House Council for Community Solutions. The council is tasked with solving community-based problems through resources in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
