Rush's Geddy Lee Gets Wine Scholarship Named in His Honor

We know, we were like "Wine scholarship? What's that?," too. Decanter.com reported the news about the scholarly effort involving the prog-rock legend.
The scholarship was created by Lee's fellow director's at Grapes for Humanity, a charity that works to raise funds to benefit humanitarian causes around the world with the assistance of the international wine community. The board offered up a unanimous vote to launch a $26,500 scholarship in Lee's name; the Canadian government's Trust for Student Support will invest in the scholarship, as well, by matching that figure. A student of wine making with at Niagara College, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario in Lee's native Canada, will enjoy the benefits that come with the scholarship. One of the requirements is the desire to pursue a career in the field. Crush dem grapes!

Tony Aspler, president and CEO of Grapes For Humanity Canada, said in a statement: "We hope that the annual recipient of this scholarship will bring to his or her calling the same dedication to quality and to public spiritedness as Geddy Lee has brought to Canada's musical legacy."
