Sneak Peek of Episode 3 of VH1 Classic's 'Metal Evolution' (VIDEO)

This weekend, the folks at VH1 Classic will premiere episode three of their must-see 'Metal Evolution' series. Hosted and directed by Canadian filmmaker Sam Dunn, the 11-part documentary is the most exhaustive look into the heavy metal pantheon and features interviews with an endless parade of musicians and music industry insiders.

"When we did 'Metal: A Headbanger's Journey,' we knew we weren't going to be able to cover all of the different styles, subgenres and history of the metal scene in a 90 minute film. That was the inspiration behind using a family tree in the documentary to help show that side of things. That film was more an exploration of the culture and controversy around heavy metal. It wasn't meant to be a history lesson about the music," Dunn told Noisecreep about 'Metal Evolution.'
