Guns N' Roses Headed to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Class of 2012 has been announced for rockers and rollers!

Guns N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers are two of the major acts on their way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. The groups will be inducted into the Cleveland-based museum in April of next year.

'Appetite for Destruction,' Guns N' Roses' landmark debut album, was released in July of 1987. Produced by Mike Clink (Metallica, Megadeth), the 12-song affair includes rock radio staples like 'Welcome to the Jungle,' 'Paradise City,' 'Sweet Child o' Mine,' and 'Mr. Brownstone.' 'Appetite for Destruction' has sold over 28 million copies throughout the world.

Other inductees in this class include The Beastie Boys, Laura Nyro (she's a singer-songwriter, in case her name is not immediately familiar to you), Donovan and The Small Faces/The Faces. Congrats to all the nominees, which included Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, who did not get in this round, as well as the winners. There's always next year, Joan. You'll get there. We have faith.

Now the major question remains: Will Guns N' Roses reunite at the induction ceremony on April 14? Will Axl Rose and Slash bury the hatchet and just play, or at the very least, accept this prestigious honor together? Strap yourselves in, kids. This is going to get interesting. All eyes will be on Cleveland next spring.
