Anvil Announce US Tour Dates

Lips & Co. are giving you a big one on Happy Valentine's Day. Anvil - whose lead vocalist Steve Kudlow is nicknamed Lips - will be releasing three of their older albums on Feb. 14, 1987's 'Strength of Steel,' 1988's 'Pound for Pound' and 1992's 'Worth the Weight,' all remastered in a digipak format. The End Records will reissue the Canadian metal band's entire catalog by the end of 2012.

Lips, co-founder drummer Robb "Geza" Reiner and bassist Glenn Gyorffy (with the band since 1996) experienced rallying support and opportunities in recent years after the 2008 documentary, 'Anvil! The Story of Anvil,' directed by Sacha Gervasi, showed the persevering, endearing metal band keep at it since 1978, influencing a whole crop of musicians but never cracking the big time themselves.

Since then, the band has opened for AC/DC, appeared on Conan O'Brien, headlined a European Tour, played the U.S., as well as other cool tours and shows. This year, Anvil released a new album, 'Juggernaut of Justice,' produced by Bob Marlette (Alice Cooper, Airbourne, Sebastian Bach) at Dave Grohl's studio, and a greatest hits compilation, 'Monument of Metal,' that just came out in September. In January, the band will hit the road for an extensive U.S. tour.
