Ke$ha Plans to 'Resurrect' Rock on Sophomore Record

Back in October, Alice Cooper predicted that pop star Ke$ha, his unlikely collaborator on 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare,' would fully embrace rock 'n' roll and emerge as "a sort of female Robert Palmer." It turns out he may be right.

"I feel like I don't necessarily agree, but people say that rock and roll is dead, and it is my mission and my goal to resurrect it in the form of my pop music," Ke$ha told MTV News, looking ahead to her forthcoming sophomore album. "That's the goal. We'll see what happens. That's a very ambitious and lofty goal, but that's my goal."

Ke$ha has long discussed her fondness for '70s guitar music, and in an interview last February with Rolling Stone, the 'Tik Tok' hitmaker said she's "gravitating toward making a solid cock-rock record next."

In another chat with MTV, she said she's hoping to work with some of her '70s-era heroes, and while Cooper owes her a favor, we're holding out hope for a Ke$ha-KISS collaboration. You know Gene Simmons digs anyone with dollar signs in their name.
