Nickelback Respond to Black Keys Diss Via Twitter

Who doesn't like to get in a little dig now and then?

In the new issue of Rolling Stone, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney gets a little nasty while complaining about the current state of music and takes a shot at Canadian rockers Nickelback. Carney tells the magazine that, "Rock and roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world." He then calls the band "s--t."

Not to be outdone, the guys in Nickelback tweeted the following message to Carney:

"Thanks to the drummer in the Black Keys calling us the Biggest Band in the World in Rolling Stone. Hehe."

It's the not the first time the Black Keys have called out another artist in an interview. Just this past October, the duo dissed the Black Eyed Peas when the folks at MTV made a clerical error and wrote the pop group's name, instead of the Black Keys, on their Video Music Award for "Breakthrough Video."

"We went back and forth: 'God, what do we have to do?' And then we figured that we should get proper ones made with our names on it, because in 20 years, nobody's going to know who the Black Eyed Peas are," Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach told GQ. "We'd have this stupid award with Black Eyed Peas on it and nobody's going to get the joke. So we decided to get our own award. But they made us send them back before they would give us proper ones."

If album sales mean anything, Nickelback are way more popular than most of the bands that take shots at them, including the Black Keys. According to the group's Wikipedia page, they've sold over 50 million copies of their seven studio albums. But really, who's counting?
