Sepultura Asian Tour Postponed Due to a Death

A death in the family of the promoter of their Asian Relentless 2012 Tour means that Brazilian thrash vets Sepultura have been forced to postpone the dates. The trek was slated to launch on Feb. 3, but those plans have been tabled with makeup dates planned for October.

The tour was to launch in Indonesia, where the band last played two decades ago. The shows were to be the debut of new drummer Eloy Casagrande.

Sepultura broke the news via a lengthy post on their website, stating that promoter Shirazdeen Karim is so bereft by the death of his grandmother, who actually raised him, that he cannot properly attend to the tour dates while he manages his grief. She passed away on Jan. 16 from a heart attack.
