KISS, Mötley Crüe Tour: Exclusive Interview With Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Eric Singer

Yesterday, March 20, at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Calif., in the room where the first Academy Awards ceremony was held in 1929, KISS and Mötley Crüe announced a major assault on the United States this summer. Dubbed simply, 'The Tour,' finds the two iconic hard rock groups joining forces on a co-headlining blitz that starts in July and runs through late September.
Both bands shared the stage (after being introduced by comedian George Lopez) to take some questions, poke some fun at the current state of live music, and lay claim to their collective status as two of the most successful, outrageous, fan-loved bands that the United States has ever produced. KISS vocalist/guitarist Paul Stanley spoke passionately about both bands and their desire to put on full-fledged shows every night, as a thank you to the fans for the decade's worth of support. His bandmate, vocalist/bassist Gene Simmons, added that "All music played will be live, unlike so much of the lip-synching that goes on today."
Both bands are clearly fans of each others and Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx spoke lovingly of having a KISS poster on his wall as a kid. The tour promises to be a double-shot collection of some of the greatest rock 'n' roll anthems ever created, delivered by two of the most time-tested performance machines on earth - a pair of rock and roll powerhouses that don't need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to tell them what they mean to the fans.
After the conference, Noisecreep had the opportunity to sit down with Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee and Mick Mars and KISS drummer Eric Singer to talk about the historic tour.
