Hailing from Los Angeles, Bereft specialize in the kind of funereal songwriting that will instantly put you in a gloomy mood -- but as metalheads, we love that sort of thing. Featuring featuring Sacha Dunable of Intronaut and Graviton, Derek Donley of National Sunday Law and Graviton, Charles Elliott of Abysmal Dawn and ex-The Faceless vocalist Derek Rydquist, Bereft are getting set to release Leichenhaus, their debut album.

Elliott has stated that Bereft is all about "dark, depressing doom... definitely different from what we do in our usual bands. It's heavy as hell and we're all really proud of how the record and collaboration came out, and we hope people feel the same way." One listen to Leichenhaus and you'll know Elliott isn't kidding.

Noisecreep has partnered with Bereft to bring you the premiere of "Ethereal Dispersal," a track off their forthcoming album.

"This is a song about dying, having your loved ones cut you up into small pieces and scatter you about, and then birds eating all those pieces and shitting you out back onto the Earth," Dunable tells Noisecreep about "Ethereal Dispersal."
