Oedipus Singer Says 'Burn It Down' Was Inspired by His Former Day Job

Oedipus might hail from Los Angeles, but while they remain largely anonymous in their hometown, the band is already a star act throughout Europe. We're not kidding here. Oedipus have already scored six #1 rock singles in Poland alone, radio rotation in over 30 countries, performances at some of Europe's biggest festivals, and have been included on several European versions of the best-selling Now That's What I Call Music franchise.

With so much success coming their way overseas, Oedipus are setting their sights on America with the release of Vicious Little Smile, the power trio's third studio album.

"All musicians start out with day jobs, and most come with bosses that you hate. When I wrote that tune, I was working in a kitchen, sweating over 14 burners and being yelled at on a regular basis by an incredibly lackluster, ill-tempered chef who I wanted to stab. I don't see him anymore," Oedipus bassist/vocalist Jeremy Haffner told Noisecreep about "Burn It Down."

Def Leppard fans should take notice, since Phil Collen appears on Vicious Little Smile, lending lead and rhythm guitars to the track "Final Machine."
