Gene Simmons Rocks for the Troops in Hollywood (VIDEO)

Legendary KISS bassist/vocalist, reality TV star and outspoken supporter of our American troops, Gene Simmons, recently (April 10) headlined 'Rock For Vets' at the famed Roxy in Hollywood, California.

The 'Rock For Vets' Music Rehab Program is a clinically referred program that benefits the men and women of the VA, who suffer from PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) and other illnesses, giving them chance to build their self esteem, learn a musical instrument, perform as a band, interact with others, increase personal motivation and self confidence.

Joining Simmons on this joyous night were Bobby Kimball (original lead singer of Toto), Danny Seraphine (founding member and original drummer of Chicago), Jerry Salas (El Chicano and The Rock For Vets – Music Coach), Union of Saints and the Rock For Vets Band (made up of over 25 Veterans that participate in the Music Rehab Program) who took the stage for a one night only benefit show.

Simmons also brought along some friends and family - his wife Shannon Tweed, daughter Sophie and son Nick. Each of the kids got up and sang during the show, and Gene was joined onstage by KISS band mates Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer for two rousing versions of the KISS anthem, "I Love it Loud."

Before the show, Eric Singer told Noisecreep, "We love the passion Gene shows toward the troops. And we're right with him. We love being involved and so when he gets a show like this together, it's fun for us."

Thayer agreed. "So many people take the military for granted. It's important to stop and remember, every day, what they are out there doing, every day. And we as a band are very fortunate in that we are able to bring attention to and celebrate the troops in so many ways like tonight."
