The "beat" goes on...Volbeat, that is. The Danish band will hit the road with HELLYEAH and Iced Earth this June. It'll be a quick run that lasts about four weeks, visiting secondary North American and Canadian markets. Who's going? [Volbeat.com]
Charred Walls of the Damned, featuring The Howard Stern Show lackey Richard Christy, have been added to Metallica's Orion Music and More Fest to be held at Bader Field in Atlantic City, N.J. on June 23 and 24. In a press release, the always comical Christy said, "I've been a Metallica fan since the age of 12 and Lars Ulrich is a huge influence on my drumming, so to be invited by the mighty Metallica to play their festival is a dream come true to say the least. I was actually planning on attending this festival when I first heard about it and now to find out that we're actually playing just blows my mind..." [Orion Music + More]
Sleep, Repulsion, Oxbow, Decapitated, Terror and All Pigs Must Die are just a few of the bands set for the upcoming Scion Rock Fest 2012. The event takes place at the Ritz in Tampa, Fla. on June 2. Other participating acts will be announced shortly. [Lambgoat]
With Knives, featuring Josh Newton (formerly of Every Time I Die, Season to Risk, The Damned Things) and Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things), will release Schadenfreude, an EP consisting of six songs. They will release it --for free-- on their own Son of Man Records. [Solid PR Press Release]
Listen to a brand new track from Philm, the side project of Slayer skins smasher Dave Lombardo. The track is streaming, but the name is not shared, so we're like WTF? We don't know the title. Check it out anyway. The band's debut, dubbed Harmonic, is out May 14. [Terrorizer]
