GWAR Issue Video Message to Fur Traders, Periphery Plot Return + More

GWAR's master of the Earth, that lovable, politically incorrect big mouth known as Oderus Urungus delivered some choice words and an ominous message for the subhumans who "take animals, rip their skins off, and make marmoset banana hammocks with them."

In a brand-new (and difficult-to-watch) video for peta2, the not-to-be-fucked-with Oderus offers an edict of "bitter doom on those who fuck with our furry friends" and announces GWAR's new plan for an all-natural alternative to fur: the pubic hair of prison inmates! Oh Oderus! "GWAR is titillated to be working with peta2, in this, the latest thing that GWAR is doing," says Urungus. "We'll be providing the humans with an alternative to animal fur and also helping improve the hygiene of this country's vast prison industry, in a collaboration that is sure to rip off a few heads."

Be forewarned: footage in the video is extremely disturbing, but it makes a point. We'd rather go naked than wear fur. So would Oderus. The vid should convince any and all fur wearers to cease such a cruel practice, stat. [Peta2 YouTube]

Periphery offered an update (and track listing) on their new album. Periphery II: This Time It's Personal drops July 3 via Sumerian, with guitar goddess Misha Mansoor saying, "We put so much hard work and time into this album and we thank all of you for your continued support and patience. Doom merchants Katatonia will drop Dead End Kings on Aug. 28 via Peaceville. Expect plenty of audio melancholy and angst. Absu, fresh from slaying Maryland Death Fest audiences, have canceled their planned set at the Chaos in Tejas event this coming weekend. Drummer/vocalist Proscriptor had to return to his native Texas in order to seek treatment for a knee infection. Following two surgeries, Proscriptor is expected to be back at 110% efficiency by the mid-June, which is not in time to perform as scheduled on Saturday night (June 3). However, Proscriptor plans to be healed and fully operational for a forthcoming tour, so the gig cancelation was beyond necessity. Heal up, Proscriptor, and get back on the road soon.
