By pleading guilty, Scantlin avoids jail time and also had two misdemeanor charges -- under the influence of a controlled substance and driving without a license -- dropped by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. The three charges were the result of the rocker's drug-related arrest in Culver City, Calif. this past January.
As a condition of his guilty plea, Scantlin is now under 18 months' deferred judgment, which includes a drug counseling program.
It's been a rough 12 months for the Puddle of Mudd singer. In December 2011, Scantlin was cited by the government for owing more than $60,000 in back taxes, and last week he finalized his divorce from model Jessica Nicole.
