Lamb of God Fans Plan Vigil for Randy Blythe at U.S. Supreme Court

As Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe continues to sit in a prison in Prague, where he's facing manslaughter charges stemming from the 2010 death of a fan, supporters of the metal singer are taking his case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, friends of Blythe will stage a vigil on Sunday, July 22, outside of the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. The rocker is due in court on Thursday, several days before the planned demonstration, and while he's already posted the $200,000 required for his temporary release, the Czech legal system permits prosecutors to challenge bail, as they've done in this case.

"Hopefully we'll be welcoming him home," friend Tommy Streat, who organized both this vigil and one in Virginia last week, told the Times-Dispatch. "But if not, we'll be sending the message that we support him."

Also sending that message is a Kentucky fan who's angling for the attention of President Obama. Espedito C. "Tito" Fink has collected more than 10,000 signatures on the petition he posted on the White House website, and if he hits 25,000 before the end of 30 days, he'll be guaranteed a response from the president.

"I'm hoping this will bring enough awareness so the federal government will do any and everything within its power to diplomatically bring Randy home while remaining on good terms with the Czech Republic," Fink said.
