The Mob, 'Back to Queens': OG Hardcore Vets Head Back Home (VIDEO)

Although it was a hyper-exaggerated version of it, the way 1979's gang epic The Warriors portrayed New York City wasn't all that far from the reality of the situation. The city was coming out of a financially bleak decade and crime was running rampant throughout its boroughs.

That's why it's fitting that O.G. New York hardcore punks The Mob formed during that tumultuous period. Three teens from Jackson Heights, Queens: Jack Flanagan, Jose Gonzalez and Ralph Gebbia formulated The Mob in 1980, being heavily influenced by the burgeoning punk scenes in D.C. and L.A.

The Mob would go on to become one of the most respected bands during the first wave of NYHC, before breaking up in the mid-'80s. Now in 2012, The Mob is back in business and they recently tore the Black N' Blue Bowl festival a new asshole. If that weren't already enough, the hardcore vets just released a 7" featuring two new tracks.

Noisecreep is bringing you the video premiere of one of those new tracks, the anthemic "Back to Queens."

The Back to Queens 7" is limited to 1000 individually hand numbered copies which were signed by all four members of the band and is the first in a series of four 7" singles that will be released by The Mob on Weathermaker Music (Clutch). famed New York tattoo artist Mr. Den.
