Anthrax Drummer Charlie Benante and Wife Arrested: Couple Charged With Domestic Battery in Front of a Child

Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante and his wife Sandra were arrested on Friday (July 27) on suspicion of domestic battery in front of a child.

The incident happened in Elkhart, Ind. at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. The couple was taken into custody after allegedly arguing in front of their young daughter, Mia.

After being booked at the local county jail, Charlie, 49, and Sandra, 39, were released on Saturday (July 28), according to local news station WSBT.com. A court date has been set for Aug. 3.


As of press time, Anthrax has yet to comment on Benante's arrest. The band is currently out on the Mayhem Festival tour, headlining the Jagermeister Stage.
