Then lo and behold, in a recent interview from during the Australian music festival Splendour in the Grass she revealed that she's been writing with the band's found and guitarist Benjamin Weinman. "There's a couple of cool people that have expressed interest in collaboration for the next album," she told Music Feeds.TV. "I've been writing with Benjamin Weinman from the Dillinger Escape Plan."
"He got in touch with me and said that he was into my record, and I said 'you wouldn't believe, you were one of my favorite bands in high school. He was stoked, so yeah, it's kind of awesome to be hitting up Benjamin Weinman and be like 'put some guitars down on my new song.'"
Aside from Weinman, Kimbra also cites John Legend as another musician she's been working with on material for the new album. Pretty big names for a girl who was catapulted to fame by just a few verses in a song, lucky for her it became the year's biggest selling single.
Weinman recently tweeted his support for Kimbra as well, writing "If you have an open mind 2 anything other than metal this girl is the bomb" and linking to the article on Music Feeds that announces their collaboration.
