Nashville Predators goalie Chris Mason is quite the Iron Maiden fan. The netminder plans to wear a new mask that pays tribute to Maiden and legendary mascot Eddie for the 2012-2013 season! For the new face protector, Mason used the cover of 1984's Powerslave as a guide. This is not his first time utilizing Ed Hunter as an inspiration. Last season, while a member of the Winnipeg Jets, he based his mask on the artwork from the 'Aces High' single art from Powerslave. That's gotta be his favorite album! Slipknot are wrapping up their touring cycle in support of the Antennas to Hell release, which collects the band's biggest and best tracks of its career...so far. Emmure's Frankie Palmeri has decided that he will re-open his Cold Soul merch store after closing it due to drama and controversy surrounding designs deemed offensive. For his Cold Soul clothing line, Palmeri used images of the Columbine shooters, and glorified gun violence, which caused quite the uproar over his business. [The PRP]

A two-minute, custom-animated clip from the Darksiders II video game will air during Metalocalypse. The footage will air on Friday, Aug. 17 during the Metalocalypse marathon, which runs from 11PM through 1AM. It will feature the members of Dethklok, the animated band from the series, as well as Death, the main character from Darksiders II.
