Heavy Metal Record Label Suing 7,500 Illegal Downloaders + More News

Century Media has filed a lawsuit in New Jersey against 7,500 people who illegally downloaded CMR titles. The two albums at the heart of the suit are Lacuna Coil's Dark Adrenaline (3,136 defendants) and Iced Earth's Dystopia (4,327 defendants). The suit should drive a wedge between the label and the fans of its brand, and is likely a losing battle, since the legal costs alone could be more than any awarded judgment. [Metal Insider]

Cradle of Filth have launched a mini-site promoting their upcoming album Manticore and Other Horrors, which will arrive appropriately on Oct. 30. Geoff Tate has shared the track listing for his upcoming solo album Kings & Thieves, which is due out on Nov. 6 via InsideOut. It's 11 songs strong, featuring the Queensryche singer, who is currently at war with his former bandmates in the 'Ryche.

Roadrunner has added Southern California's Heartist to the label's roster. The band will drop a six-song EP, Nothing You Didn't Deserve, via iTunes on Oct. 16. The group will also roll out lyric videos for each track on the EP on their website in the coming weeks. Also, "Disconnected," the lead track from the EP, is available for free download! Flyleaf will drop New Horizons this fall and bassist Pat Seals opened up about the recording process, saying, "Even though the length of time between albums was longer - three years - the process itself felt a little shorter and easier and it felt like the songs were coming out of us instead of us trying to make them come out.
