Jon Bon Jovi's Daughter Drug Arrest: Teen Will Not Be Prosecuted Over Heroin Overdose

There's a bit of good news for Jon Bon Jovi's daughter Stephanie Bongiovi after she allegedly overdosed on heroin in a college dorm room on Wednesday (Nov. 14.) She will not face criminal prosecution for her actions.

According to TMZ, a rep for the Oneida County D.A.'s office is dismissing criminal charges against the rocker's daughter, 19, along with the male student, 21, who was involved in her OD. The charges were dropped due to a New York law that prohibits the prosecution of people experiencing a drug overdose. It also prohibits the prosecution of those helping them seek medical care. So that's the silver lining to this black cloud.

Stephanie Bongiovi was arrested after receiving emergency medical treatment for an overdose that took place at a dorm on the Hamilton College campus. A drug task force found heroin in the room, albeit in small quantity, as well as other drug paraphernalia and pot.

The teen faced charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia. Her male friend was also charged.

The lawyers and the judges will not do anything to her for anything that she may be charged with and Bon Jovi will be putting her in the ground. She's already started digging her own grave and it's only a matter of time before she achieves her successful suicide.

Once they put that trash in their body, they are owned. His daughter will be a problem for life. Jon and the wife better brace themselves.

Yes, it will be swept under the rug and she will face no consequences for her actions, even if it saves her life! This is an awful drug to rehab, maybe while she is very young she needs something in her life that makes her pay the penalty for the bad moves she makes. If hitting bottom means a little jail stint, and then rehab. Maybe we won't be reading about her final bottom being death. Sorry to be harsh but hiding he habit is probably what she's been doing for years, why help her by being an enabler?

Why don't people actually read these articles before commenting. It plainly stated that a state law prohibits charging an overdose victim with a crime---sounds pretty simple to me.

If that was me, I would be in jail and facing a felony charge. People with money seem to be above the law. I am so tired of seeing famous and wealthy people buy there freedom when they do wrong. I am sure this will not be the last time you hear if her involvement with drugs.

I cannot believe any state has a law that prohibits prosecution of someone who is overdosing on drugs. Can you cite the law? This sounds like pure baloney.

I am not rich nor famous. My daughter overdosed on heroin several times and was never arrested. I called the police on her once while she was getting high in her bedroom, I had to beg the officer to have her arrested. It took me years to figure out that if you are addicted to heroin it takes a hell of a lot more than just will power. It is such an evil and destructive drug. My daughter went to Mexico 2 years ago to a clinic to use IBOGAINE - it's illegal in the U.S., she has been clean ever since. It was truly our miracle cure. Good luck to their family - it's a tough thing to go through!
