In a recent interview with Revolver, guitarist John Connolly described the new music as having "a darker vibe...but there's still plenty of melody. It fits right in with Animosity, Alpha and our self-titled album. Lots of heavy stuff and some more mellow moody songs as well." As guitarist Clint Lowery proclaims in Guitar World, "There's a dark turn to the whole thing...in a lot of ways, it's your typical Sevendust record." The magazine goes on to declare that Black Out the Sun "will eclipse its predecessors with its southern-rock brutality and bursts of industrial and reggae."

Fat Goth have released their new video for "Creepy Lounge." Don't let the name fool you. They're not a joke band. Rather, they rip a page out of the Mike Patton and Melvins book of noisy, gnarly, out-in-left-field math metal. It's a, well, creepy and sped up video featuring lots of performance footage. Neurosis have decided to pull the visual projections that have been a staple of their mind-numbing live shows for the past two decades. The band issued the following statement about this major change to their performances and the exit of their visual artist Josh Graham.
"As of today, after much thought and discussion, visual projections as we have presented them over the last 20 years will no longer be part of Neurosis live shows.
We are going to begin the process of reinventing our live presentation. This process will begin at zero, allowing the music to speak for itself and lead us where it may. Whatever form or however long this may take is unknown.
This also signals a parting of the ways with our visual artist of the last twelve years, Josh Graham. Josh's tireless work and talent came at a time when we really needed it and carried us gracefully into the video age with original content we couldn't have dreamed of when we were just starting out. Our parting comes from a place of mutual respect, friendship and understanding. We all agree that this is a step Neurosis has to take and are open to working together on specific projects in the future. We wish him success and the best of luck with all of his own musical endeavors and artistic passions." [Via Press Release]
