Ted Nugent, Bob Costas: Rocker Angered by Commentator's Opinion on Gun Control

Ted Nugent has spoken out against Bob Costas in a series of tweets after the sportscaster shared his opinions on gun control.

Talking about the murder-suicide by Kansas City Chiefs' linebacker, Jovan Belcher, Costas quoted a sportswriter's support for more gun control during Sunday night's halftime show, Ultimate Classic Rock reports.

Costas said he agreed with an article written by FoxSports.com writer Jason Whitlock, who wrote: "Our current gun culture ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead. Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it ... If Jovian Belcher didnt' possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today."

Responding to Costas' commentary (who read Whitlock's statements out loud), Nugent tweeted this morning (Dec. 3), "We thought Bob Costas was smarter than that. Only fools blame tools instead of human failings. Shame Bob ... Blaming guns for crime is like blaming helmuts for headbutts. WTF Costas! Uve lost it ... Hey Bob Costas we all kno that obesity is a direct result of the proliferation of spoons & forks Get a clue ... #BobCostas has clearly lost his mind. Inanimate objects are the problem not murderers. Brilliant."
