The Best Hard Rock and Best Metal Performance Grammy category was combined a few years back, so it's no surprise that the 2013 nominees in the category are a mixed bag of both hard rock and metal bands. But we're happy to report that the category is indeed frontloaded with extreme acts.
The category includes legendary thrashers, female-fronted rockers, classic British metal warriors, a long-running shock rocker and groove peddlers.
Below is the full list of nominees in the category.
Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance
Anthrax, "I'm Alive" from Worship Music
Halestorm, "Love Bites (So Do I)" from the Strange Case Of...
Iron Maiden, "Blood Brothers" from En Vivo!
Lamb of God, "Ghost Walking" from Resolution
Marilyn Manson, "No Reflection" from Born Villain
Megadeth, "Whose Life (Is It Anyways?)" from Thirteen
Maiden are the only previous winners, while Megadeth have a handful of previous noms under their belt, as does Manson. LoG have been nominated before, as well.
The Grammys take place on February 10, 2013 at the Staples Center in L.A. The broadcast airs at 8PM ET on CBS.
