The Angels Bassist Chris Bailey Battling Aggressive Form of Cancer

It's another blow for Aussie hard rock band The Angels, as bass player Chris Bailey has confirmed that he has cancer and has been battling the disease for some time now.

Bailey is stepping down from the band so he can attend to his disease and undergo more chemotherapy treatments. The news comes mere days after onetime frontman Doc Neeson, who left the band a few years ago to pursue a solo career, shared the news that he has a brain tumor.

The group was formed by brothers Rick and John Brewster several decades ago. Now, John's son Sam Brewster, who stepped in to play bass for Bailey when he wasn't feeling well, will continue to do so. Bailey has been an on-off member of the group since he joined all the way back in 1976. He eventually left in 1982 and then mounted a comeback and returned in 2002.

Bailey's previous cancer battle was not a secret in the music industry but the official announcement was made to fans today.

Chris Bailey was a very well-known Australian bassist, He played with 2 (two) bands, Gangajang and the Angels for over 20 years. He has toured the world with both these bands and has backed the Stones and David Bowie. You ignorant young Americans in your all-consuming world have no idea how to be real cosmopolitans. You just sprout crap! Now go and cry in mama's lap

No matter who the person is, famous or not, rich or not, the diagnosis of cancer is a devastating thing and should be given its proper respect and well wishes for sucessful treatment.

That is a rude comment., albeit true but you could have said it more assertively and given the guy credit for what he does as a musician and show some compassion for the guy since he has cancer that apparently is an aggressive form. I bet if we listen to the guy do his deal in his band he probably is pretty decent so lets give him some positive vibes so that maybe he can beat this thing.

I am tired to seeing LeAnn and hearing her explanations to excuse herself. Her career is ruined. Good!
