Randy Blythe Czech Republic Manslaughter Trial Delayed, Singer Returning to the US

The ups and downs in the Randy Blythe manslaughter trial overseas have already begun. The Lamb of God singer, who returned to the Czech Republic to face the charges after initially being detained and imprisoned for five weeks last summer, is on his way back to the U.S., as his trial has been delayed until March 4.

WTVR and the Prague Post report that the singer's defense team requested the delay due to the fact that a key witness was sick and unable to testify. The attorneys want the witness to testify in person. A witness is scheduled to offer testimony on Thursday, February 7. Afterwards, the trial will be postponed until March 4.

Therefore, Blythe is permitted to return home to Virginia, as he has promised to return to Prague next month when the trial resumes. The fact that he returned to face the charges in the first place proves that he is not a flight risk, nor is he running from this issue, especially since he maintains his innocence.

The charges stem back to an incident that occurred a May 2010 LoG show in the Czech Republic. A fan, named Daniel Nosek, died after sustaining head injuries at the show. It is argued that an altercation with Blythe caused the injuries, since the singer is accused of pushing the fan off the stage. The singer and the band's management had no idea that a fan had died at a show, and were completely surprised that Blythe was arrested upon landing at the Czech airport in June.

Nosek's parents are seeking $530,000 while Blythe faces a jail term.
