The film features acts such as Burzum, Dimmu Borgir, Morbid Angel, Judas Priest, and more. "Some of the premise of the film was to have metal be a part of this," Stone tells Noisecreep. "With the raw nature of this film, it makes more sense than an arbitrary Hollywood score."

Based on the Vinland sagas - documents detail Norse voyages to North America hundreds of years before Columbus - the film follows two Vikings who are abandoned by their expedition. "They decide they want to return home, which is sort of an impossible task, and have their story written in stone," Stone says. "They encounter Christian monks and there are Native Americans following and tracking them."

In a recent interview with Noisecreep, the punk rocker discussed a new song about the history of Iron Maiden and what happened after he called Avenged Sevenfold "the epitome of what's wrong with rock and roll."

First off, the Maiden dissing -- NOFX's latest album, 'Coaster,' features a song about the legendary metal band's history called 'Eddie, Bruce and Paul,' which puts Maiden's iconic mascot and its most prominent frontmen in a bizarre love triangle. "I was just thinking that some of their songs are so good and they were just so cool when they had Paul Di'Anno in the band," Mike tells NoiseCreep. "Then they got Bruce Dickinson, this falsetto f---, and for me, it just ruined everything."
With 'Hellions on Parade,' Pennsylvania rockers CKY return with a hard-hitting single that continues a storyline set forth in their 1999 debut. "This is the third song in the Hellview trilogy, which is a story about a town that doesn't take kindly to outsiders," singer-guitarist Deron Miller tells Noisecreep, referring the band's '96 Quite Bitter Beings' and 'Escape from Hellview.' "This one is about Hellview destroying its rival city and people are already calling it the best of the trilogy. We did really cool keyboard lines on it and it turned out really heavy."

Listen to 'Hellions on Parade'

What's special about 'Hellions' and all of the band's fourth album, 'Carver City,' is that it almost didn't happen. "The band hadn't talked in a year," Miller says. "We had problems with alcohol and shit talking and being on a tour with people who didn't know how to run one." The initial recording of the album was done before the band made up, with songs being emailed back and forth between members. "I recorded the vocals for 'Hellions' alone in Santa Monica," Miller says. "It was really bizarre, but now things couldn't be better."
Florida metalcore quintet Poison The Well announced this week that their upcoming album will be called 'The Tropic Rot' and will be available June 16 from Ferret records. The band also promises that artwork and the track listing will be available soon.

The follow up to 2007's Versions, PTW's fifth studio album features production by Steve Evetts, whose credits include Every Time I Die, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Kid Dynamite. "This record is truly a reflection of us both as individuals and as a band," bassist Bradley Grace tells Noisecreep. "We spared absolutely nothing in making it what we consider to be our finest moment. It combines all the energy and momentum of past PTW records while continuing on with the artistic direction we have always strived for."
