Jared Leto Posts Photo on Instagram of a Fan's Severed Ear Sent to Him in the MailLarry Busacca, Getty Images

30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto said in a recent interview that the weirdest fan mail he had ever received was a severed human ear. He added that he had actually poked a string through it and made a necklace out of it. Seriously.

The actor-turned-rocker told Xfm's Phil Clifton, "Someone cut their ear off once and sent it to me, that was very strange. ... The Van Gogh move. The note just said, 'Are you listening?'. I never knew who it was, who's missing their ear out there."

Naturally, people were skeptical, so Leto took to his Instagram (gore warning!) and gave us proof that cannot be unseen.
