Just a couple days after Eric Avery backed out of Nine Inch Nails, the industrial rockers have recruited former member Robin Finck to rejoin the group. NIN mastermind Trent Reznor revealed the news in a tweet to his fans.
Eric Avery, best known as the founding bassist of Jane's Addiction, decided to exit Nine Inch Nails after being announced as a new member of the revived group earlier this year. Avery stated he was overwhelmed by the band's touring commitments.

Today (May 16) marks the third anniversary of Ronnie James Dio's death. The iconic Black Sabbath / Rainbow / Dio / Heaven & Hell vocalist gave his all to music for over 50 years before succumbing to stomach cancer in 2010. To celebrate the live of Ronnie and to mourn his passing, the singer's widow, Wendy Dio, released a tribute to her late husband.

No vocalist in rock and metal history can claim a career quite like Ronnie James Dio's. After playing in various projects including Elf, former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore recruited Dio to front Rainbow in 1975. The singer's booming voice put himself in the periphery of Black Sabbath, who invited Dio to take the place of Ozzy Osbourne after the 'Prince of Darkness' was fired by Tony Iommi in 1979.

Nine Inch Nails have just lost their new bassist. Eric Avery, who formerly played the four-string for Jane's Addiction, has left Nine Inch Nails after feeling "overwhelmed" by the band's upcoming tour schedule.

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor made the announcement of Avery's involvement with the band in February of this year, but just as quickly as Avery joined Nine Inch Nails, he's pulled out of NIN's touring plans, leaving a vacancy in the group's lineup. Avery broke the news publicly via his personal Facebook account, making it clear that his decision is a bittersweet one.

The past year of Randy Blythe's life has been a roller-coaster ride of emotion. After being jailed in the Czech Republic on accusations of manslaughter stemming from a 2010 concert incident, the Lamb of God singer was found not guilty on all charges in March of this year.
Now, as Lamb of God are set to kick off a North American tour tomorrow (May 15), Blythe reflects on the events of the past year and remembers the 19-year-old fan who died from a fall at that 2010 concert. He also asks fans to be cautious when they attend metal shows. Below is a portion of Blythe's essay, with a link to the entire piece below:

It's been a tumultuous and troubled time in Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin's life. Within the past two years, the rock singer has faced charges related to drug possession, tax evasion, public intoxication and driving with a suspended license, but this latest charge is perhaps Scantlin's most serious allegation to date.
According to TMZ, Scantlin was taken into custody on the afternoon of May 13 after an alleged domestic disturbance between the Puddle of Mudd frontman and his ex-wife, Jessica. The rocker apparently acted violently against his former bride, which was witnessed by a number of people. Scantlin reportedly shook his wife in an aggressive manner and dragged her by her shirt and/or arm.

Van Halen had previously opened up in an interview with Guitar World about the collaboration, which includes tracks "Not Leaving You Tonight" and "We Are the Greatest" (don't be so modest, you guys!). Blink 182/Transplants drummer (and occasional reality TV star) Travis Barker also guests on "We Are the Greatest."

Last week (April 17), Sevendust brought their infectious brand of hard rock to a packed Best Buy Theater in New York City. Noisecreep was on hand to see the Atlanta heavyweights (along with Coal Chamber, Lacuna Coil, and Candlelight Red) bring the house down with songs covering their entire discography, including the newly released Black Out the Sun album.

Sevendust were kind enough to grant us some backstage access at the show and let us turn our camera on them. You can check out our favorite photos from the night below the cut!

Candlelight Red are back.

The Pennsylvania melodic rockers have just announced that they'll be releasing their sophomore album, Reclamation, on June 4.

Reclamation is the follow-up to their 2011 debut album, The Wreckage, which spawned the Active Rock hit, "Closer." Their Demons EP, released in 2012, featured the Top 30 Active Rock single, "Demons." Sevendust drummer and newly-appointed Imagen Records Vice President of A&R Morgan Rose was brought in to produce Demons and the chemistry was evident immediately. Four months later, they teamed up again at The Architekt Studios in Butler, N.J. to write and record the new album with the help of mixer/engineer Mike Ferretti.

"We are excited and very proud of what we were able to accomplish on this record," says Candlelight Red guitarist Jeremy Edge. It was an honor working with Morgan again and we can't wait for everyone to hear what came out of the sessions!"

The new album's first single, "Feel the Same," will be released to radio May 14, but Noisecreep has an exclusive stream of the track below!
"'Parasite' was the second song that we wrote for the full length back in 2011. It's gone through quite a bit of changes during the studio process, but has come out far better than we could have imagined. Lyrically this song is very personal to our vocalist, Alex [Vincelette]. Band: Burn Your World
From: Winnipeg, Canada
Song: "War" off the upcoming Vicious Intent 7"
RIYL: Hatebreed, Madball, Terror

About the track:

"This song is written as a war cry in the face of those who violently oppress, those who attempt to stomp out the flame of free thought, inquiry, and speech. This theme is reflected throughout the record, which, in part, deals with the battle between religious fundamentalism and western secular values, but not in a way that is anti-religious.

The controversy surrounding Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses was an inspiration for the record. Rushdie wrote a fictional book, and it came across as offensive to Islamic leaders. A bounty was offered for Rushdie's death. Many Muslims felt as if it was their responsibility to make this happen because of the Fatwa, their religious convictions and the controversy surrounding the fictional book. There is a quote by Rushdie in response to the controversy; 'What is freedom? Without the freedom to offend, it does not exist.' The freedom of speech is completely fundamental for the exchange of ideas. Knowledge will overcome ignorance.

For this song, and the rest of Vicious Intent, we pursued a more real, less digital sound. The lyrical content comes from a very real place, and we feel that a genuine sound compliments that vision." - Burn Your World guitarist James Hofer
