Alex Skolnick of Testament admits that Michael Jackson didn't replace Judas Priest in his tape deck, but the 'King of Pop' still had a profound effect on the shredder.

"When 'Thriller' came out in 1983, MJ had been someone my peers and I mistakenly thought of as a 'disco' artist," Skolnick told Noisecreep. "There was no way you could get me to listen to one of his albums. But leave it to Michael Jackson to achieve the impossible. For the song "Beat It," he and producer Quincy Jones brought in Eddie Van Halen, who was my favorite guitarist and arguably the most influential hard rock guitarist of all time. By doing so, they made a statement that hard rock and R&B could go together, forever altering the course of pop music. They also got legions of stubborn teenage male rock fans like myself to pay attention to Michael Jackson. Suddenly, his earlier work, such as the 'Off The Wall' album, started to resonate with me. Was it going to replace Ozzy and Judas Priest in my cassette deck? No. But was it worth putting on once in a while? Absolutely. Besides, girls liked it."

Mike 'Gunface' McKenzie of Boston's deathcore giants The Red Chord told Noisecreep about the significance of Michael Jackson in his life.

"'Thriller' was the record that made me realize music was awesome. I was probably five years old when I first heard it, but that record made a huge impact on me. 'Off the Wall' and 'Bad' were incredible as well. Even with all the bizarre and disturbing events in his life that the press focused on, those classic albums are still untouchable."

What is more metal than a dress made out of meat? Not much. Jia made this dress out of "salty bacon and salami" for her 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' birthday party, in which she went as Meatwad (of course).

When asked about the odors that could come from such a tasty dress, her boyfriend Brian told Noisecreep, "It took about a day for the salami smell to wear off."

Those meddling kids in Iwrestledabearonce seemed to have booked a show in a shady part of town in this video for 'You Aint No Family.' With a carefully cast (gross) bartender, some tough guys in the crowd, and a few killer dance moves, it's evident this band has no problem having a good time when the camera is rolling. Their new album, 'It's All Happening' comes out next week.

This week we're streaming the brand new album from CKY, 'Carver City,' [listen here] which tells a grim tale of a fictional town that got its name from a crazy fisherman who killed his entire crew while at sea. Singer-guitarist Deron Miller explained to Noisecreep, "Years later, [the crew] return and curse the city," Miller says. "Everyone who lives there has problems and hard times, and they're trapped. It's pretty symbolic of where we are today with the economy."

The Devil Wears Prada has a new album coming out next week called 'With Roots Above & Branches Below.' Since they were in town playing two sold out nights in New York City, they killed some time at the Noisecreep office rocking some 'Guitar Hero,' talking hair metal bands, and giving advice on avoiding lawsuits.

"When we signed the contract our label had lawyers look into (our name) and everything and they said it was fine," said guitarist and vocalist Jeremy DePoyster on the bands lack of legal wrangling with book publishers. "I guess because it's in a different format. The boys of 311, Nick Hexum, SA Martinez, Tim Mahoney, Chad Sexton and bassist P-Nut, have wrapped up another album, 'Uplifter,' which is due out June 2. This is their first album in over three years, and the band is already on the road in support of their ninth release.
