Lamb of God Drummer Chris Adler Clarifies Marilyn Manson Diss

Chris Adler

Put down your dukes.

Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler has issued a statement to clarify comments that he made about Marilyn Manson and his sale statistics in 2012 while being interviewed by an Indian website. Turns out things were taken out of context.

Initially, Adler was asked about vocalist Randy Blythe's rant that the music business being in the toilet because Marilyn Manson's Born Villain debuted at No. 10 with only 38,000 copies sold. His response? "Randy and I don't always agree. According to me, Manson's career finished a long time ago."

Adler's clarification statement, provided exclusively to Blabbermouth, was meant to contextualize his comments and throws props to Manson for his earlier efforts. He blamed the fact that the interview was likely transcribed by hand, causing the meaning to be misconstrued and/or lost in translation.

Below is the entirety of Adler's statement:

Black Sabbath Reign Victorious at Homecoming Gig (VIDEO)

AFP

Black Sabbath made their live return on Saturday night (May 19) at a homecoming gig at Birmingham, England's O2 Academy.

The lineup featured original members vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, and bassist Geezer Butler, along with drummer Tommy Clufetos. Original sticksman Bill Ward is sitting out the influential metal band's reunion shows due to contractual differences between him and the group. Clufetos has played with everyone from Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper to Osbourne's solo band.

Opening the show with "Into the Void," this weekend's O2 Academy gig was a warm-up for Black Sabbath's upcoming headline performance at this year's Download Festival in England's Donington Park.

Butler posted the following message on his personal website after the Birmingham concert: "Thank you, thank you, thank you Birmingham. Best fans ever- you brought out the best in us. It was a privilege playing for you tonight. Tony was a hero- you were the best medicine he has had. Proud to be a Brummie."

David Lee Roth, Postponed Tour Dates: Van Halen 'Getting Along Famously,' Singer Insists in Video

A few days ago, when Van Halen announced they were postponing 30 tour dates, fans speculated that David Lee Roth and the gang were once again at each other's throats. The hard rock legends certainly have a history of infighting, but in a video posted this weekend, Diamond Dave offers another explanation: They're tired.

According to Roth, he and the Van Halen boys -- brothers Alex and Eddie and youngster Wolfgang -- are "getting along famously, better than we have in quite some time, and I think the shows reveal that through the miracle of YouTube."

"As usual we bit off more than we can chew when it came to scheduling," adds Roth, who shot the video with his dog Russell somewhere "just north of Minneapolis."

Black Sabbath, Bill Ward Photos: Band Removed Pictures of Drummer From Website At His Request

Kevin Winter

On the main page of the official Black Sabbath website, fans will find links to news, multimedia and an online store, but for the time being, there's one thing they won't find: photos of Bill Ward. The drummer has been feuding for months with the pioneering British metal band, and he's evidently opted to take himself out of the picture -- literally.

"At the request of Bill Ward, through his attorney, so as to not give the public the wrong impression about his involvement in the current Black Sabbath lineup, we have temporarily removed Bill Ward's images from the main pages of the blacksabbath.com official website," the group -- singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler -- said in a statement yesterday (May 19). "In accordance with Bill Ward's attorney's request, we are doing so for the duration of the forthcoming shows."

Slash, Scott Weiland: 'No Truth' to Singer's Claims He's Rejoining Velvet Revolver, Guitarist Says

Travis Shinn

Bad news, Velvet Revolver fans: The odds of Slash stepping back onstage with Scott Weiland are about as slim as those of him reuniting with Axl Rose. Or so the guitarist made it seem last night (May 18) on New York's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show, where he dismissed Weiland's recent claims he's rejoining the hard rock supergroup.

As Blabbermouth.net reports, Slash told host Eddie Trunk there's "no way" the reunion is going to happen, despite Weiland's desire to split his time between Velvet Revolver and his other band, Stone Temple Pilots.

"I love Scott -- he's a great guy when I'm not in a band with him," Slash said. "I'd just like to keep it that way. So there's no truth to this whole thing. [It's been given] way more attention than it even deserves."
