Though Canada's Jon-Mikl Thor had already launched a hard rock career bringing the hammer-wielding son of Odin to the stage, New York's fur-clad Manowar penned the definitive operatic Thor ode on their classic infidel-crushing fourth album, Sign of the Hammer. And thus, a thousand late-night metalhead singalongs were inspired.
