2. Kerry King (Slayer) and Corey Taylor (Slipknot)

"In the beginning of summer I was assigned a photo shoot with comic book artist Greg Capullo, who was doing the next Revolver cover which was an illustration of Kerry and Corey fighting. From what I understand… Kerry saw the cover and said “HELL NO! I can TAKE COREY! Lets redo this!!!” haha. SO! That turned into me recreating the cover at the New York Mayhem Fest, with Greg Capullo at the show as well. I went alllll around the venue to try to find a black wall I could shoot… it literally did not exist until I found the closed off boiler room beneath the catering area. I wanted to match the cover the best I could both in pose and in lighting. I set up a parabolic toward the wall and a dish main BLASTED to give a good spread of light, but also cast a fall out shadow. Kerry came down first, and as soon as Corey came down Kerry laughingly yelled “COREY, LETS DO THIS!!! IM GOING TO KILL YA!” and in the best Kerry King imitation voice Corey replied “HOLD ON IMA DO SOME PUSHUPS FIRST!” and proceeded to do some push ups. Their back and fourth banter was incredible. I got them in there and took a few shots, repositioned a bit, took a few more while holding the magazine cover up to try to get it as close as possible. This shot was the best one of the group, and the closest to the cover image. This was easily the funniest commentary I’ve ever heard during a shoot, and one of my favorite shots as its such a once in a life time opportunity, which I always try to get anytime I can."
