9. Alissa White-Gluz (The Agonist)

"So this is an interesting story. I was lined up to do a shoot with them at the Webster. I get to the venue, and the shoot had been cancelled. I re-set up the shoot, and during the shoot they had to call it off. So, we rescheduled the shoot for the next day… and their van broke down… so it was rerescheduled for them to come to my house, and shoot on a day off (which is much better for everyone). We ended up doing one of my favorite shoots of the entire year that day, not only are they a great band to photograph, but excellent people as well. This was a spread for Outburn Magazine, but some of the solo shots of Alissa also found their way into Revolver. This shot is one of my favorite studio shots of her, shot with 5 lights, 2 bare parabolic keys, 2 soft box sides and a main beauty dish, at f10 at a 160th. Also, Alissa has quickly become not only one of my favorite people, but my favorite person to work with this year, so expect a bunch more of us shooting together in the near future."
