"Kriz came out to the studio to do a shoot with me for various promotional and endorsement uses. Being that he has an image I really like, I went a bit above and beyond what I would normally do for a standard small publicity or endorsement shoot. Because it was the beginning of spring, none of the leaves had started budding. I had him go into a heavily branched area and had him hold as still as possible while I shot this photo about 10 times until I had it just right. I wanted it to look like a crown of thorns, and had captured it exactly as I wanted to after a few tries. This was shot natural light with the 1.2 lens and ended up leading to us working together fairly often, as he was in TNBK, was a guest at my last photo seminar, and we also did a really cool Halloween shoot. I’m sure we will be working together fairly often in the future."
