It Dies Today's Frontman Models for Metal Couture
Metal Couture, an edgy, metal-influenced fashion line whose motto is "sophisticated debauchery," debuted pieces from its Spring 2009 collection at Fontana's in New York City on March 6. While a fashion show might seem like the least metallic way to spend a Thursday evening, the truth is that metal and fashion co-exist and all you need to do is look down at the band logo on that t-shirt you're wearing for proof!
Well-coiffed It Dies Today vocalist Jason Wood took part in the festivities, walking the runway. Wood told Noisecreep, "Josh from Trustkill emailed me and said, 'Hey, this might seem lame, but do you want to be in a runway show?' So I said 'Yes.' I get to keep the two shirts I am wearing in the show. I was hoping for some free jeans!" Wood is used to being in the spotlight, since he performs on stage, so he was only slightly apprehensive about strutting his stuff. "It like, 'What do you do?'" he said. "It's not like you can practice a 'walk' in front mirror. I'm just going to be relaxed and pose like a band photo."
Meanwhile, It Dies Today are waiting to release 'Lividity,' their first album in two years. The recording is done and Wood cops to being a huge CSI fan, which inspired the album's forensic title. "When you die, all the blood settles in the lower part of your body," Wood revealed. "It's a metaphor for stagnancy. The album is introspective." The band recorded the album themselves, electing to use their recording budget to build a studio in their house. No release date has been set.
