Psyopus, 'The Burning Halo' -- Video

The Rochester-born quartet Psyopus are one of the leading members of the avant-garde metal subgenre, and much is due to the unmatched technique of guitarist Christopher Arp. Their latest release has been described as exploring "all ranges from controlled noise, stop-on-a-dime melodic precision, extreme manipulation of expectations, innovative techniques, miserable drama, and blinding intensity." The band has an unmistakably definitive sound based on their experimental methods of drawing out a breakdown, and Brian Woodruff has an insane vocal range. Their live shows are known to be absolute chaos, and the video for "The Burning Halo" is a great teaser for anyone planning to catch one of their gigs. The video is from a track on their latest release, 'Odd Senses,' which came out in February on Metal Blade Records.
