Iron Age's Wade Allison Hates Sportscaster Jim Rome

ESPN doesn't necessarily come to mind when you hear Iron Age's punishing brand of crossover-schooled hardcore. That doesn't mean the Austin, Texas quintet doesn't appreciate their sports. We spoke with guitarist Wade Allison about the group's upcoming 'The Sleeping Eye' album, but he had something to get off his chest. "I got home from work yesterday and I wanted to watch a show on ESPN called 'Pardon the Interruption,' but it wasn't on because they were covering some golf s--- so I had to watch the end of 'Rome is Burning' instead," started Allison.
"Jesus Christ is Jim Rome a f---ing loser or what? I mean, everyone must know he's an extreme douchebag at this point," the guitarist spewed forth.
But he wasn't done yet! "He spent the entire final 15 minutes of his show ripping on Olympian Michael Phelps for growing some ridiculous mustache. I don't know but I guess Rome's writers forgot that his whole image is based on his OWN dumb mustache!" Rome is known for his confrontational interview style, so Noisecreep suggests a one-time "Rome vs. Iron Age" ESPN spot. We have a feeling Allison would be game for that.

I couldn't agree with you more. Rome is a douchebag. Why people watch him is a complete mystery to me. Hey, when I'm feeling down I watch him diss Jim Everett by referring to him as "Chris" and get his ass handed to him.

I enjoy watching Sportscenter, and I have to agree, Rome is Burning gives me a headache! He is an obnoxious and loud man who thinks that only his opinion is what matters. Does the facial hair REALLY look that good to him?

No doubt Rome is high on himself and his opinion, but he does not hold back in his views, which, to me, is refreshing. The Jim Everett thing years ago was funny...and Rome deserved to get his ass kicked more than he did.

I agree, rome is an egomaniac who hasnt ever proven himself on the field. His interview with Jim Everett is a lesson on how NOT to approach an athelete. I cant watch or listen to him.

I think that this article was REALLY unnecessary! This band sucks, and nobody cares what they think! If you ask Aerosmith, Motley Crue, or Metallica what they think of Jim Rome, then you've got a story!

I like Rome more as a radio host than TV host but I admire his style. He says what he thinks no matter what people think and I like that. As far as Iron Age who really cares what this guy thinks. I've never even heard of them. The only reason he probably ripped Rome was to get some publicity for his never heard of band.

Rome is the perfect example of a kid in school, who spent their childhood being stuffed into lockers, only to develop a quick tongue, and a following of 'clones'. That name itself show's the intelligence level of his devotee's. Pardon The Interruption is at least entertaining, as well as informative. Those guys are tolerable. Jim Rome need's to go just away

ESPN is a nightmare all around . PTI is the only decent show they have . I cant watch sportscenter . The joking and the fake comradery / ball busting between the hosts is unwatchable . And forget watching a baseball game . Joe Morgan is the absolute worst analyst in the history of televised sports . Rome sucks on tv , but his radio show is decent .

Jim Rome is a major bag, but not deuche, more like testicles. ESPN would do right by the country to drop him. Drop him fron the ESPN sattelite, but from their programming would do just fine.

I love espn and watch it often. When Rome is on I always turn it, He is full of himself and his comments are always not only stupid but full of hate.

Lets see: Jim Rome accomplished sports talk show host and ranked in the top 30 of most influential radio personalities. Has Iron Age put out an album? Is their single "burning up the charts"? Sounds like someone has a man-crush on Michael Phelps, and was a little too wasted to find the remote and CHANGE THE EFFING CHANNEL. Get a life Losers....
