Kiss 'Hottest Show on Earth' Tour Dates

Kiss

It's time for round two. Legendary rockers Kiss are coming back to America in support of their newest album, 'Sonic Boom.' The Hottest Show on Earth Tour will stop in both amphitheaters and arenas. In typical Kiss fashion, the band is promising a huge stage show -- and rare songs not usually performed live. Tickets for many shows go on sale June 4 via Live Nation.

Instead of selecting an established band as support, Kiss has teamed up with Guitar Center to discover a talented, unsigned act. The Guitar Center On-Stage competition will allow unsigned rock bands to compete for a chance to open for Kiss at 22 different tour stops. The winning band will also receive a $10,000 Guitar Center shopping spree. Unsigned bands can begin registering June 1.

Watch as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley spill exclusive details about the tour.

Fans will also be giving back just by attending a Kiss concert this summer. The members of Kiss will donate a dollar from every ticket sold to the Wounded Warriors Project. This charity benefits the United States Armed Forces.

As Dick Clark said on his 80th birthday, "I've seen just about every band since the early '50s. KISS didn't raise the bar, they created it. Their spectacular show sometimes gets in the way of people realizing what great musicians they are. A classically and operatically trained lead singer (Paul Stanley) is what makes them so unique. How many bands lead singer can tour with The Phantom of the Opera and get rave reviews from critics and fans? Probably Bruce Dickinson is the only other singer I know of who could pull that off. You can have all the explosions, make-up and other special effects you want, but the music is what has kept people coming back for 35+ years. All that other stuff only lasts so long. And I think my opinion is worth something. I’m pretty sure I know.”

So thank you Dick Clark.

ACE DID NOT QUIT. Ace got fired because they couldn’t deal with his alcohol abuse anymore. He’s now been sober for four years, so eventually, he’ll get back with them. Peter’s problem was his attitude. Even guys who warmed up for them in the ‘70s and then when the originals reunited in the ‘90s say Peter was impossible to deal with. All four have always had body doubles in case an injury happens during the show, but Ace’s body double had to be used frequently in the ‘70s because he was too drunk and would pass out on the side of the stage before shows. Bob Kulick, Bruce Kulick’s older brother was his double back then and had to climb over him many times. In the ‘90s, they said Ace behaved at first, and only have a few drinks before the show, and a few during, but it got to the point again where they couldn’t deal with it. Tommy Thayer was the double and guitar tech, for Ace and they just brought him in. Eric Singer is just a much better drummer without the bad attitude. Tommy looks so much like Ace (body style) anyway, so it’s just Ace sober.

If people think KISS aren't musicians, I'd invite them to watch the unplugged version on youtube of, I Still Love You or Every Time I Look At You, or basically any of that show. Music critics shut up after that. Actually, we just lost a singer who is that good. I would have loved to have seen, Ronnie James Dio unplugged. Put his critics to rest too, as KISS did. Rest in Peace Ronnie!

KISS screwed a lot of cities this year and last time they toured. They are so concerned with certain "Markets"... http://www.frontrowking.com/KISS/kiss.html

they are just a little old for such nonsense, don't you think? And I'm of their generation. I couldn't care less about them in the past, but since Gene S. defamed Michael Jackson after he died, I've lost what little respect I ever had for poor ol' devilish Gene!

The problem with hanging your hat on your stage performance as Kiss does, is that as you grow older, you eventually look silly. Frankly speaking, I think it's time for Kiss to call it quits. They're no longer about the music (as if they ever were), but all about the money.

Really?!?!?!

I've seen these tickets go for as little at $80 bucks, to as high as $1250 each and they give 1 stinking dollar to the military, blah! Way to use the armed forces to sell tickets so you can cash in. I bet that was Gene Simmons idea! Your a bunch of old scrubs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without Ace and Peter, this is nothing but a Kiss tribute band.
