Alice in Chains, Deftones and Mastodon have chosen their winners, and Noisecreep is proud to have the video of the bands answering not only the winning questions but a handful of other great ones.
Judgement for best questions was based on 40 percent originality, 40 percent creativity and 20 percent public voting. Mastodon's winner was Kelly, who asked, "If you had to write about something cute and cudly, would you still be able to infuse it with your bad-ass mentaliciousness?" Obviously she gained extra points for making up a word. Bassist Troy Sanders and drummer Brann Dailor responded, speaking in terms of death metal.
Kerry K from Virginia took the prize from Deftones, saying, "I love it when you cover other band's music and put your own spin on it. What Alice in Chains song would or do you cover?" Frontman Chino Moreno recalled a time he actually gusted on stage with the band singing 'Them Bones.'
"Their stuff is hard to sing," he said, pointing out the complexity of their vocal patterns.
Alice in Chains picked Hetal from California after being asked why they chose the bands for the tour, despite everyone being so varied in sound. Drummer Sean Kinney detailed how they wanted to end their touring cycle for 'Black Gives Way to Blue' with a big tour with big bands they love, and the rest just came together.
All three winners received a Pair of VIP tickets to a BDS tour date of their choice, a chance to meet the band they interrogated and a limited edition BLACKDIAMONDKSKYE Edition Zoom Q3 camera.
